Sell.com uses your email address to notify you of offers or changes in your negotiations on Sell.com, so it is important that the email address you provide is kept up-to-date. If we encounter too many problems trying to send emails to your account on file, we'll ask you to update or re-confirm your email address at your next sign-in. Until you reconfirm your email address, your listings will not appear in search, and will not be visible to buyers. After you update and confirm your email address, your listings will become active again.

In some cases, your account may be temporarily over quota, and you can simply re-confirm your current email address once you've corrected the problem. In other cases, you may need to provide us with a new permanent email address (perhaps you have changed Internet Service Providers, or set up a new email account).

To re-confirm or change your email address, click the Edit action button when you see a Permission Denied page, or click the Change on your Profile page. We'll send a confirmation code via email to your new address that will allow you to reactivate your account. If this happens frequently, you may want to consider setting up an account specifically to handle Sell.com email messages.

We may have problems delivering email to you for a variety of reasons:
  • You are over quota. Many popular email services, such as Yahoo! or Hotmail, have a quota on how much space you are allowed to use. If you exceed their quota, then your account will begin to "bounce" or refuse mail, until you delete some of your email on the server.
  • Your account has been deleted or is no longer active. Perhaps you changed service providers or your email provider is no longer in business.
  • Your account has been suspended. Some mail servers will suspend user accounts after too many failed login attempts, or due to inactivity.
  • Your account was set up to forward email to another account that is having one of the above issues.
  • You may be utilizing a challenge-response anti-spam system, such as Earthlink's spamBlock, MailWiper, Mail-Block, or similar setup. These systems automatically send a confirmation email back to Sell.com before you view our orginal email. Since we can't easily reply to these confirmation messages, we treat them as a bounce. To fix this, you'll need to allow all emails from Sell.com.
If you are trying to update your email address, but are not receiving the confirmation code to complete your change request, please ensure that you are able to receive email at the account that you are attempting to use. You may update your Sell.com email address as often as necessary.
