Big House DVD 1930 Chester Morris Crime Drama Black and White NR
Stars of The Big House: Chester Morris, Wallace Beery, Lewis Stone
After a manslaughter conviction from drunk driving, nice but foolish Kent is sent to a prison over-crowded and unable to properly deal with it's inmates. There he meets veteran criminals like Morgan and his hardened pal Butch. And the system punishes them all, turning them against each other and bringing out the worst.
The Big House is still the grand daddy of all prison films. It will shock as well as entertain. The cast does a marvelous job and that also includes Lewis Stone as a Judge Hardy like warden.
The Big House is dated but it still entertains. It also happens to be the blueprint upon which all subsequent prison movies have been based.

Note to Buyers
Mayda Mart movies consist of mostly American films made before 1964. These carefully researched films have been considered to be in the public domain in the USA for many years. Why is a film in the public domain? Briefly, films fall into the public domain because they were never properly registered with the Library of Congress in the first place or were not renewed as required by the prevailing copyright laws at the time. This movie has been researched and found to be in the public domain in the U.S. because the copyright has either expired and is no longer valid or the film was not copyrighted at all. Researched first with the United States Copyright Office Public Catalog as well as other public domain resources.
Thank you for visiting Mayda Mart.
