A regulator valve in the steam line adjusts the speed of the engine. Double-acting brass piston and cylinder equipped with oil lubricator. The piston/cylinder powers the chain drive on the spocket gears. Boiler constructed of solid brass with lacquer finish and duel spoked flywheels (3" diameter). A flexible belt connected to a grooved pulley on the crankshaft turns the artifical governor (governor just for show). Exhaust steam is vented to chimney to give a realistic appearance.
