“THE LAST FRONTIER”
Kate ( Jessica Tuck), was the personal director for Ridley International, a
conglomerate building a tourist resort in Anchorage in this buddy comedy notable
mostly for its location. Looking to rent a guest cottage, she ended up with 3 rather immature twenty-something male roommates. They were Reed ( John Terlesky), who ran an outdoor adventure company; Andy ( Patrick Labyorteaux), a horny, obnoxious, down right odd Air Force intelligence officer obsessed with flying saucers; and Billy ( Anthony Starke), a conservative architect/builder, a big lug who loved Yogi Bear cartoons. Also on hand are Matt (David Kriegel), Reed's shaggy-haired younger and even more dimwitted brother, and his new wife of six weeks, Joy (Leigh-Allyn Baker), who is supposed to be "sweet but extremely traditional." Watch out for those devious traditional types. The gang has two obsessions: sex and zinging one-liners. Matt and Joy ran the “Brew Pub“, the rustic bar where Joy was a waitress and where everybody hung out in their spare time.
Like many series in the 1990’s on FOX, before this one had a chance to gain an audience, it was gone. It wasn’t the best thing on TV, but considerably as good or better than many shows that made it. It had possibilities, but really wasn’t given a chance.
