Rickenbacker is a wonderful company. Unfortunately about 15 years ago they quit taking special order guitars. This is the type guitar that made them famous, and you can no longer get them from Rickenbacker. So I now make them in my custom shop at Dallas Guitar Service. We started with a new 2009 Rickenbacker 330 that came from a Rickenbacker Dealer, so we can't sell it as new, but is has never been played and is in new condition. We added 3 Vintage Re-Issue Rickenbacker Toaster Pickups scatterwound to 7.4 ohms just like they were in the early 60's. We added vintage style tuners, vintage style knobs, Accent vibrato unit, new upper pickguard to accomodate the 3 toaster pickups, then we went to work on the guitar. We did a complete setup on the guitar. We then did a fret level and fret dressing. We have the action set low, but will adjust to anything the NEW OWNER would like. The pickup cavities and control cavities were lined with copper and were connected to the grounding system of the original wiring to shield as much RF interference as possible. This Guitar looks even better in person. And it sounds great. We plugged in to a brand new Vox AC15 to see how well we did. You get the cool chunky sound the Lennon got in 1964 and 65. You really get the jangle that George Harrison did in A Hard Days Night. This Guitar is British Invasion times x 10. I would Imagine Whoever buys it will be very happy with it because it is Soooooo Cooooool.
