This ad is for a DVD of the VERY rare HBO DOCUMENTARY "Life of Crime 1." Filmed in the early 80's, Life of Crime follows 3 criminals in Newark, New jersey as they shoplift and steal from stores.

Rob, a good looking guy with a girlfriend and baby, steals anything he can everyday. "Beats working 9 to 5!" he says. He steals bedsheets, clothing, razors, anything he can. Him and his friend Freddy just haul in alrge suitcase, load it up with silverwear and leave out the front door. Rob brings the money home to pay bills and feed his baby girl.

Freddy, Rob's teacher, also steals. However, his money goes to the dopeman for heroin and soon is shot up is arm.

Mike, the third shoplifter, is on the run from the law. Hiding out at Robs house, he says, "I'm not gonna just let them arrest me! Let them come and FIND me first!" He seems to take pleasure slapping his yound, pregnant girlfriend on camera and yelling at her to get back in the bedroom.
