DESCRIPTION:
1.Ghosts is a short film starring Michael Jackson which could also be classified as a long-form music video (37 minutes). It was filmed and first screened in 1996 and released along with select prints of the film, Stephen King's THINNER. It was released a year later internationally on VHS and never in the US. The film tells the story of a scary Maestro with supernatural powers, who is being forced out of a small town by its mayor. The movie includes a series of dance routines performed by Michael Jackson and his "family" of ghouls. Every song from the film was taken from Michael Jackson's HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor albums. The film is also notable for the first film appearance of rapper Mos Def. The special effects and make-up are amazing with Michael, and at the end of the movie is a "making of" feature during the credits. Michael Jackson also plays both the lead roles in this film directed by Stan Winston (who also does the make-up and special effects)and it was co-written by Stephen King.
2.Billie Jean is a dance-pop R&B song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was written by Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). Originally disliked by Jones, the track was almost removed from the album after he and Jackson had numerous disagreements. The song's lyrics refer to a real-life experience, in which a mentally ill female fan claimed that Jackson had fathered one of her twins. The song is well known for its distinctive bass line and Jackson's vocal hiccups. The song was mixed 91 times by Bruce Swedien before, ultimately, the second mix was chosen.[2]
Following the successful chart performance of "The Girl Is Mine", "Billie Jean" was released on January 2, 1983, as the album's second single. "Billie Jean" was a worldwide commercial and critical success; it became one of the best-selling singles of 1983,[3] and topped both the US and UK charts simultaneously. Cited as one of the most revolutionary songs in history,[4] "Billie Jean" was certified platinum in 1989.
3.Moonwalker, also known as Michael Jackson: Moonwalker, is an American film released in 1988 by singer Michael Jackson.
Rather than featuring one continuous narrative, the film is a collection of short films about Jackson, several of which are long-form music videos from Jackson's Bad album. The film is named after the dance technique known as the moonwalk, which was one of his trademark moves. The name of the dance move was dubbed by the media, not by Jackson himself; however, he did choose the title of the film himself.
The release of Moonwalker was originally scheduled to coincide with Jackson's 1987 album, Bad. During the theatrical release of Moonwalker, Jackson was also embarking on his first tour as a solo performer. Moonwalker was not released until January 10, 1989 |
