This ad is for a DVD of the very rare and hard to find HBO documentary "Broken Child."
Every year in the U.S., approximately one in 25 children is reported as a victim of substance abuse before they are even born, criminal neglect, or physical or emotional violence. Child-protection agencies are being overwhelmed by the crisis. Filmed on location in Baltimore, Atlanta, Houston, and Seattle, this cautionary program narrated by Susan Sarandon examines the cycle of child abuse. Case studies include children with developmental difficulties caused by maternal drug addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder brought on by scenes of extreme violence in the home, and life-threatening injuries from beatings.
The stories in "Broken Child" are....
Patricia: 8 months pregnant, Patricia works as a prostitute and continues to smoke crack. This is her 7th child, and like the 6 children before- it will be taken the state unless she gets sober.
Johnathon: Johnathons parents thought they had adopted a sweet little boy who had some behavior problems. But before long, his outbursts became violent, involving guns and knives. Finding that Johnathon brain was damaged by his birth-mothers drinking, they are determined to raise him and love him, despite his problems.
Benny: Benny is being raised by his aunt Gloria. A cute little boy, he is often disruptive at school. Benny witnessed the murder of his Mother, who was stabbed by her drug-addicted boyfriend.
Other children are also followed in this documentary that is narrated by Susan Sarandon:
A boy who found his older Brother dead and must walk by his death scene on his way to school every day.
A Male teacher at an inner-city Newark School who sees the effects the crushing poverty has on his students.
A women who has two kids in a small, filthy apartment. Both kids are dirty, only wear a diaper and play with cigarette butts and stale food on the floor while her pregnant mother talks with the case worker.
A 6 month old baby being air-lifted into a hospital. With a severe concussion, blackened eyes, a broken jaw and severe brain swelling, the child is close to death. Having been beaten, the Mother cannot tell you who beat her child, she left him with a stranger she met on the street to go and smoke crack.
This is very very rare DVD and took me years to find it.

A: Yes, if my ad is active, I have the item in stock. =) You may buy as many copies as you need, I will give a discount.

Q: How much is shipping if I buy more than 1 DVD?
A: Shipping is a flat $3.00 (in the USA)- even if you buy 50 DVD's. Shipping to the UK, Canada and Australia varies, depending on where you live. =)
Q: I am looking for a documentary I don't see in your store.
A: Click the "Buy" button on ANY of my and ask me- I get new documentaries in weekly. Chances are I may have it and just have not listed in yet. If I don't have it, I can likely find it for you.
Q: What is the quality on your DVD's?
A: Almost all my DVD's are excellent quality, 9/10 or 10/10. However, some of my older docs are good quality and are 7/10 or 8/10. I specialize in older, rare, hard to find DVD's, some 20-30 years old. I DO NOT sell bad quality, fuzzy DVD's. My older DVD's have clear pictures, just not the high quality of today's DVD's.
A: How long will I take to get my order?
Q: I strive to get all my orders out within 48 hours of receiving payment, sometimes sooner. Larger orders may take a day or two more. From then on, it's up the PO, but normal delivery time is 2-5 days.
Q: Do you trade?
A: Yes, I trade DVD's and also buy them. If you have documentaries (any subject) and wish to trade, contact me. =)
Q: What is return policy?
A: In the rare case that DVD does not work, please contact me and I will replace it with the same DVD. I do not do refunds. If you are unhappy for ANY reason with your item, contact me BEFORE leaving feedback so I can help you. I want YOU to be happy with your order and I will go out of my way to make sure you are. =)
Q: It's been 6 days and my order hasn't arrived- what do I do?
A: 95% of my orders within the US get there in 2-5 days from the time you paid. I track each and every order. Please allow at least 10 days before contacting me. I leave them at the Post Office, it's out of my hands. I can't control the shipping time. If it's been 10 days- contact me and let me know. I will track the package for you. If it has been lost, I will replace it at my own cost. =)
