MODEL SAILING YACHT

THIS IS A RADIO CONTROL LUXURY YACHT, BEING A SHIP,S CARPENTER , I DESIGNED AND BUILT IT FROM SCRATCH ,THIS MODEL LUXURY YACHT WAS DESIGNED FOR ROUGH WATER AND HIGH WINDS TO MATCH IT,S SCALE, ACCORDING TO MY CALCULATIONS 12" TO 24" BREAKERS WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM, IT HAS THE WEIGHT AND DISPLACEMENT, IT COULD BE RIGGED FOR TWO MASTS , FORE AND AFT ,WITH THE REAR MAST GIVING IT MORE SAIL POWER, AS WELL AS STABILITY. THE HULL CONSTRUCTION IS MARINE PLY WITH A FIBERGLASS OVERLAY AND VERY TIME CONSUMING TO BUILD TO SAY THE LEAST.

. DETAILS -- 20" BEAM , 65" LENGTH , WEIGHT ABOUT 40 LBS. IT WILL WORK WITH AT LEAST A 84" MAST AND ABOUT BETTER THAN 2000,SQ. IN" OF CLOTH IN SAIL,S,AS WELL AS WHAT EVER JIBS YOU FEEL NECESSARY, USING A SPINNAKER COULD BE POSSIBLE, I ALSO GAVE THAT SOME THOUGHT. THE KEEL WAS DESIGNED TO RECEIVE CHANGEABLE WEIGHTS DEPENDING ON WIND AND WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE WEIGHTS ARE FLAT , WIDE AND THE LENGTH OF THE KEEL, THIS IS TO HELP CONTROL THE YAW IN SHALLOW WATER.

IF COMPLETING THIS LARGE MODEL YACHT SCARES YOU, YOUR NO SEA FAIR EN BLOKE ARE YA LAD , THEN LEAVE IT TO SOMEONE WITH A CRUSTY SPIRIT , NEVER TO A LILLY LEVERED LAND LOVER. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE INQUISITIVE IN NATURE, IN YOUR RESEARCH OF LUXURY YACHTS, SOMEWHAT MECHANICALLY INCLINED IN MODEL BOAT BUILDING AND RADIO CONTROL SYSTEMS AS WELL AS ARTISTICALLY FORTIFIED WITH THE COSMETICS OF MODEL YACHT BOAT DETAILS. YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD HOBBY SHOP CAN HELP YOU WITH ALL THE TOYS YOU WILL NEED TO GET HER SHIP SHAPE. THIS IS A CUSTOM DESIGNED PRECISION MODEL YACHT HULL I BUILT FOR MYSELF ,THE HULL IS COMPLETELY FINISHED AND PRIMED.

I DESIGNED THIS HULL TO BE USED AS A SAILING YACHT WITH SAILS OR WITHOUT SAILS ,BEING DRIVEN BY A LARGE GAS MOTOR THAT GO,S WITH IT AS A FAST CRUISING YACHT, WITH THE FLEXIBILITY OF BEING USED ETHER WAY

I HAVE BEEN VERY PREOCCUPIED FOR SOME TIME NOW WITH OTHER VERY REWARDING ENDEAVORS AND UNABLE TO DEVOTE THE TIME NEEDED FOR THIS VERY REWARDING HOBBY TO SEE IT THROUGH,. SO IF YOU ARE A CRUSTY SEA FAIR-EN BLOKE WITH MORE THAN ONE HAIR ON YOUR CHIN THIS IS FOR YOU ,ONLY IF YOU ARE UP TO A SOMEWHAT ELEMENTARY CHALLENGE AND INTERESTED IN MODEL SAIL BOATS , CALL ME or WITH ANY QUESTIONS, WE CAN DISCUSS A PRICE . WHATSTORM PAINTING HISTORY

WHATSTORM was her name, she was a 45'sailing yacht that sailed the GREAT LAKES for many years never bowing to any weather defying wind and wave without hesitation. She set sail on LAKE HURON one bleak morning in NOV.of 1923 with a full crew ,sails chattering and greeting each pounding wave tipping her proverbial hat as she went by with much pride. She had a stop to make for supply's at Alpena, the THUNDER BAY area. THUNDER BAY was no stranger to her,but in spite of all the ship wrecks in this area over the many years she sailed this area many times before, never submitting to wind or crashing wave at her sail or bow. However she never arrived at Alpena, for her supply's on that fateful morning IN NOV. OF 1923. WHATSTORM and CREW were never ever seen on the GREAT LAKES again, anywhere. She just vanished so it seams.Fire side story's have it she met her match on THUNDER BAY and joined the many other ships at the bottom of THUNDER BAY. I thought it would only be fitting to make a painting of her in all her glory on THUNDER BAY braving rough waters and wind just the way she looked perhaps only minutes before that fateful morning.
