The Ultra tiny, cube-shaped MobiBlu Cube 5 is a tech marvel and has certainly turned some heads among industry journalists. The player weighs just 18g and measures 1 cubic inch (24 by 24 by 24mm) -- about the size of eight sugar cubes stacked together.
The MobiBlu Cube 5 is versatile. The cute MP3 player is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems (plug and play).
The player supports MP3 and WMA (including DRM) files, packs in an FM tuner and records voice and FM radio. There's also an ample selection of sound settings, including five preset equalizers.
The Play, FF/REW, and volume buttons on the right face are arranged in the same way as those on Apple's players, and the menu and hold buttons are on the left face. The four-line organic LED (OLED) screen gives you bright blue text on black that's readable easily.
The MobiBlu Cube 5’s headphone jack is unique as it doubles as a USB 2.0 port. The included charge/sync cable has a standard USB connector at one end, and at the other end is a 3.5-mm headphone-type plug with three bands instead of two. Those bands plus the lead correspond to the four USB pins, meaning that the player syncs with your PC and charges via the same jack it uses to output audio.
The The MobiBlu Cube 5 is a great on-the-go player for its tiny size and necklace headphones. The screen is bright and the navigation is well thought out. Transferring music on and off of the player is a snap by simply dragging and dropping without the need of additional software. |
