MY PAINTINGS ALL HAVE A FIRE SIDE HISTORY TO THEM

OLD 409 ON TRACK NO.9

This painting was the result of myself and a friend in our young foolish happy days. His name was Steve, Steve and I liked trains, every thing about them ,we would go down to the tracks to watch for OLD 409 on track No.9.We new her appearance would be earth shaking. We would sit as close to the tracks as our courage would allow us.The absolute bomb bursting earth shaking noise and ground vibrations that OLD 409,s steam engine could produce was indescribably breath taking, not to mention the earsplitting sound from 409,s killer whistle going by, that was just a few feet from us. It scared the living hell out of us and took about a half a day for our hearing to return .It also took several attempts at first, just to sit within a few feet of OLD 409 to say the very least, while her massive shiny black bulk roared right by us , along with the ground shaking around us. Her steel wheels rheumatically clattering as they hammered over each section of track, clickey click ,clickey click , Chickie click,with her massive car,s rocking back and forth as if trying to reach out to grab us as they went by. With her explosive screaming whistle a blow- en, black smoke and steam a spew-in like some shiny enormous black dragon and just that quick OLD 409 on track No. 9 was gone and out of sight, in a flash so it seemed, with only a distant faint low hum of her engine and whistle dim,dim,dim, then we were left with the sent of steamy lingering smoke and the feeling of a slight breeze against face,s, as we watched OLD 409 vanish from sight. I must say that was the most thrilling experience we ever had,none of our friends would ever join us. ON A DARE I WOULD SAY LET,S DO THAT A LITTLE CLOSER NEXT TIME !!!! Then it was to hurry home unnoticed to change our pants.

To say the very least he has never darkened any of those doorway,s in his life as an Artist. He is a God given modest self taught Artist.

When ask about this his comment was, I take very little credit for my Art work, I just ask god to guide my brush he is the real Artist and creator of all my paintings and much more this I firmly believe .
