Spiritual Counseling

Hi :) I am Rev. Joseph Buenviaje. Most friends call me Chaplain Joe. My desire in this Spiritual Counseling is not to impose my own belief system, spiritual perspectives, or to practice on you, but to help discover how you can make spiritual meaning of your life experiences.

My role is to help guide you back to your own Source of spiritual nourishment, wisdom, and strength, rather than to encourage dependence on the counselor as some kind of spiritual intermediary.

As your Spiritual counselor, I will mirror the attributes of respect, acceptance, non-judgement, patience, humor, and an unshakable certainty of the basic goodness, worth, innocence, and wholeness.

Lastly, please note that Spiritual counseling is not in-depth psychotherapy. Information given as spiritual counseling and is neither prescriptive nor diagnostic. All information that is shared is held in the strictest confidence.

The core assumption of Spiritual Counseling is that the spiritual and psychological dimensions of human experience and development are different, although at times overlapping, with the spiritual dimension as foundational. Spiritual counseling provides a safe space for inner exploration.

Spirituality holds a trans-personal viewpoint to support clients in their development. It means beyond (or through) the personal self or personal identity. The trans-personal approach studies the transcendent, or spiritual dimensions of humanity. It involves care of the psyche and the soul. It views the body, mind, and spirit as working together toward creating wholeness. It is a process of trusting ones inner wisdom that if given the proper support and guidance, will bring about healing and growth.

Spirituality supports clients by assisting them to resolve inner conflicts, provide support through spiritual crisis, reduce anxiety, resistance, stress and worry, as well as educating clients about their process and affirming their experiences. Spirituality helps clients to remember and feel connected to an inner sense of wholeness, well-being, purpose, meaning, and worth and to attain new levels of self-awareness, self-acceptance and personal growth as they connect with their authenticity, inner truth, and wisdom.

* Reconnective Healing
Reconnective Healing is often a life-changing experience, utilizing new frequencies to allow for the healing of the body, mind, and spirit. These highly palpable energies are initiated at the start of your session, and continue working with you long after your visit has ended.

* Personal Reconnection
The Reconnection is designed to activate meridian lines (like acupuncture lines) on our bodies, reconnecting them to the lines on the planet that cross at acknowledged power places. The idea being that, because we were at some point disconnected from the fullness of our connection with the universe around us, this process would "reconnect" us, allowing for a heightened degree of healing and evolution.

* Healing Circles
Healing circles provide a space where individuals from different spiritual paths, or of a particular faith may come together to access the healing power of group energy. Healing circles are tailored to the specifications of the group.

* Personal Rituals
Individuals may be assisted with the design of rituals that are prescribed during their divination sessions. Rituals may also be designed without a divination session for a specific occasion as the client desires.

* Teen Program

The teen program helps youth to increase their self awareness, improve their ability to control their behavior and evoke a sense of purpose and hopefulness about their futures.

The premise of the program is that becoming more self-aware and in control of one’s feelings and behaviors is enhanced by the ability to quiet one’s mind and become a better observer of one’s own reactions to personal and life events and situations.

The primary goal of the program is to offer skills, guidance, and hope to youth through the use of meditation, guided visualization, and relaxation exercises. Topics include: Self discovery, entitlement, trust, anger, loss, grief, abuse, violence, offensive behavior, shame, disrespect, forgiveness, the future.
