We purchased this interesting signed and numbered Limited Edition Print about 15 years ago in a Folk Art Shop in Wisconsin. We bought it though it was small, but very attractive and had a wonderful message written on it about how we should view our fellow man.
It said:
“My Brother… There’s no other that could fill your shoes or take your place. Your silly face, I love. My Brother… You’re my Family, a friend to me, depend on me to be a friend to you.”
“P.S. We are so lucky to have each other”
Catherine Grunewald:
Folk artist Catherine Grunewald creates pen-and-ink originals and limited- edition lithographs and has appeared on HGTV to show off her famous but friendly Folk Art style needlepoint art and recently did the Program Cover for the White House Easter event. She believes in simple pleasures, and the animals and gardens on the small Alden, Ill., farm where she lives and that inspire her work.
When folk artist Catherine Grunewald heads to the drawing board, she can probably be found in her own personal space--a room she's created that is part office and part playroom. Grunewald created a country workspace that carries a fanicful tone, much like her pen-and-ink illustrations. An antique hutch provides a workspace, and a hanging "catch-all" board displays items and puts them within easy reach.
The artist, along with her husband, John Grunewald, established Grunewald Art and Publishing to maintain quality control over the art in 1987. |
