EISENHOWER & LUTZ
Enterprising young attorney Barnett 'Bud' Lutz Jr. is the sole proprietor of Eisenhower And Lutz, a law firm based in Palm Springs, California. There is no Eisenhower. His rather crazed, sign painter Father merely added the name of the former US president because it sounds impressive and looks good on the stationery. Lutz, in all cases, is a man who takes chances. His biggest gain in life came by winning $5000 in a Las Vegas casino while celebrating his graduation from that city's School of Law and Acupuncture. Not only did he purchase the big red Caddy convertible he always wanted, but now he was in the lawyer business.
Lutz opens his practice in a mini-mall adjacent to a famous accident prone intersection, hoping for plenty of walk-in clients. He has a girlfriend, Megan O'Malley, but still hankers after an old flame from his schooldays, Kay Dunne, partner in the rival law firm of Griffith, McKendrick and Dunne. Keen to boost his business, Lutz is willing to shove O'Malley out of the way in favor of Dunne, but in attempting to do so he usually ends up the loser, and Megan, through it all, stays with her man.
