MEN INTO SPACE - 1959-60 Television series
This was perhaps the first Sci-fi series that made an effort to play it straight. No "space rangers" dashing around the universe in this one. It is the story of a team of American pilots led by William Lundigan. Their job? To fly the first manned space craft. The series starts with the first moon launch and ends with a trip to mars. Excellent writing and what was then state of the art effects make this a must see for the sci-fi fan. This set has all 38 episodes on 10 discs. Check out all the great reviews at IMDB.
