YESTERDAY'S ENEMY - 1959 UK
This is simply one of the most tense ,hard hitting , nasty and just down right brutal war films I have ever seen. A small group of British troops are trying to stay one step ahead of the Japanese as they retreat back through Burma after the fall of Rangoon. They must fight swamps, the jungle and the constant attacks of the pursuing Japanese. What was 65 men is now 35. A couple close quarters firefights with the Japs further reduces their numbers. They send off a group to find help but that group is wiped out before they get a mile away. This is one vicious nasty film. There is no glory in war here. Check out the great reviews on IMDB.
