SYNOPSIS:
Greed, lust, dirty tricks and bloody fist fights... All those things that make life worth living. When Piper and Rick, the two hottest properties in the Battle of the Bands want to make it, only one thing stands in their way. They're from opposing High Schools. And Malibu High's 6'6" muscle-bound monster Godzilla is going to do everything and anything stop his sweet little sister getting it on with some jerk from the Coldwater Canyon High. When all else fails, only Lovelines answering service can keep them together.
A pair of young lovers attending rival high schools find their romance complicated when the girl's big brother, the town tough guy, finds out their affair. Then the comedy begins.
COMMENTS:
I liked Lovelines because it had a lot of funny stories all wrapped up into one movie. You had a love/hate plot, an ambush plot and finally the chase scenes. It was kind of like a Romeo and Juliet story and West Side Story in one film.
This rare movie is a great look back at the early 80's, This was one of the coolest movies in the early 1980's. It was just like American Pie and all those teen heart throb movies they have now a days. When was the last time you saw "battle of the bands" featured in a movie? I cannot believe the sexual sense of humor they actually got away with back then, but it rocks! Not only will guys enjoy it, but all you gals will too. It might also remind you of your high school days, because the plot is about two rival schools. And yes they do get even with each other! So watch it, if you can find it!!!
