Wild Child: The story of Feral Children: This disturbing documentary explores the “nature or nurture” hypothesis. Subjects include: a girl whose alcoholic parents let her live in the backyard from the age of 3 with the dogs. Never having learned human behavior, she barks like a dog, pants, and runs around on all fours. A boy who is seven that was also partially raised by dogs, and a girl who was severely neglected until age 13. Jeanie was kept in isolation from the age of 13 years old, strapped down to potty chair during the day, kept in a cage at night, and never spoken to. When the cops finally found her, she was the size of a 7 year old and could only speak like an infant. This documentary explores the capacity to learn after the age of development is over, and what happens to these children when they are saved.
