Free flight stunt is here now!
We only produce Genuine Urban Aircraft. Our designs are the only free flight models that are expressly designed for the rigors and limitations of urban/suburban flying. Period! That’s why we’re Zinghai G.U.A.
World’s first and only free flight stunt model airplane kit. If I had these when I was a boy I could have done a lot more flying and lost far fewer planes to trees and roofs (none) and had way fewer crashes. Flies in as little as 50x75 ft. (15x23m). With free flight like this, who needs R/C?
Maybe there's something to be said for a free flight model that:
Is completely comfortable doing loops
Can successfully avoid stall and crash conditions.
Withstands hard surface impacts (though that doesn’t happen very often).
Adapts to gusts with a 360 roll as if it were routinely normal
Is designed for strength and still builds light.
Stays out of the surrounding obstacles
Builds with a fraction of the effort of scale kit
You may wonder...FF has been a “duration” event since 1871. Why hasn’t anyone come up with free flight stunt before this? Well, because it’s hidden and only appears in a 5%-10% window. Decalage is fairly normal. The propeller is the key. It must be high pitch and low mass for low gyroscopic influence. Propeller pitch is matched to motor torque and aircraft weight. Change one of these factors and the other two must be re-adjusted. Balance is aft, which is scary to traditional FF flyers. This setup results in consistent looping flight and consistent avoidance of stall at power down.
So, you wonder, how does it get that nose down so nicely... At low angles of attack, a wing strives to roll forward, and at high angles, backward. Apparently the AA is low enough in this case and when airspeed is low enough, the tail loses control of the wing, and since the low gyro forces of the prop don’t interfere, the nose can pitch down in spite of the aft balance point. Without the aft balance, the loop will not retard in climb or tighten in dive to effect an exit that is higher in altitude than the entry point. Neat, hey?
I like to think that this starts something new in FF that can be enjoyed and improved over time by others. The original prototype was retired in flying condition at 150 plus flights. Perhaps what is presented here works?
Ideal for flying in suburban and urban areas.
Stronger than a stick and tissue model “ought” to be.
Loves breezy flying conditions.
Kits are produced with our own custom tooling. There are no commercial parts suitable for this type of flying.
New builders are well supported in instruction booklet and on the plan with many hints, explanations and techniques included. Once the frames are built, these airplanes just seem to flow together.
