Hi Performance Balanced Engine
This Chevy 454 crate engine by Tuff Dawg Engines would be EXCELLENT for a street/strip car, street rod,
pickup, or your daily driver. Remove that old Chevy 454 and install this 500HP Chevy 454
to bring your ride to life! This engine has a rough idle. It is a good
4-speed manual transmission engine . If you are using an A/T, a 3000rpm
stall speed converter is recommended.
The balanced rotating assembly includes:
- 4.00" stroke nodular iron crank
- 6.135" forged rods with ARP rod bolts
- With 10 to 1 compression there is no need to mix fuel, this engine
will run on Premium pump gas
More special features of this engine include:
- New Forged domed pistons
- Seasoned 2-bolt main block
- Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal
- New Hydraulic flat tappet cam with .550"Int/.550"Exh valve lift
- Large oval port heads - these are the largest oval port heads made by
GM
- New 2.190"Int/1.880"Exh stainless valves with undercut
stems for improved flow
- New 1.440" high performance springs with dampeners setup to
match cam
- New 1.7 roller tip rockers
- New Double row timing set
- New High volume oil pump with steel drive shaft and steel guide
with oil pickup tube welded to pump
- New Revolutionary 1-pc design molded rubber oil pan gasket with
load limiters to prevent over-tightening and higher temperature resistance
than standard cork-rubber gaskets
- New Brass expansion plugs
- All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality
look
This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, timing cover,
harmonic balancer, valve covers, and intake manifold.
This engine is custom built from start to finish in our

This engine is covered by a 12 month, 12,000 mile written warranty.
