The item listed is a handmade, light-weight, fly-fishing lanyard.
Ditch your vest!!! This is the way to fish! There is no fishing around your vest, trying to remember what pocket you put your tippet or snips in. On hot days, you won’t have to wear an extra layer, just a light lanyard around your neck. Your back won’t hurt, because of the weight in your vest.
I’ve spent the last year “tinkering” with my lanyard, and here are the specs of what I have created:
1. The lanyard, itself, is very light-weight.
2. The overall length of the lanyard listed is 27”.
3. It is made with 1/8-inch, durable suede lace.
4. The 16-inch strand of beads across the top make it very comfortable around your neck.
5. The drawstring cap allows you to adjust the length to fit your height (although, if you are over 6’ 2”, please tell me, so I can make longer top strands for your lanyard). The “adjustment lace” allows you to adjust the bead strand and keep it in place, as you adjust your length.
6. There are alligator clips placed on the top and bottom of the lanyard to keep it against your body as you lean over to net your fish.
7. The 3” tippet dispenser is made of 3/8-inch oak dowel rod and is stained in walnut. ½-inch eye screws on each end allow you to easily disconnect the swivel attachment to ad or take off spools of tippet. A clip has been placed on each end of the dowel to keep the spools from sliding off the ends, which gives you a little over 2” for spools. These clips are very tight, so you will probably need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to take them out and put them back. I carry six spools of tippet easily.
8. Five, No. 1, black swivels, are placed evenly between the wooden beads on the bottom of lanyard, which gives you plenty of mounts for your snips, pliers, floatant, drying pad, etc. (The items attached in photo are just “display only.” Only the lanyard is for sale.)
This lanyard has worked exceptionally well for me! It has all the make-up of the high-dollar lanyards, but I believe this is a little “sturdier.” You can see more details at our website, www.creeknuts.com .
