1987 World Junior Hockey Championship
- USSR vs Canada Brawl
Game DVD
This is an unbelievable game known as a
"lights-out game" because of infamous bench-clearing brawl between two
young teams full of future NHL stars like Fedorov, Shanahan, Konstantinov,
Fleury, Mogilny, Doan, Malakhov, Turgeon and others.
A huge fight broke out in the second
period and the refs, after many unsuccessful attempts to control the
players, decided to shut off the lights to stop the fight, but that did not
help! This fight cost Canada all and any possible medals they were hoping to
take home as both teams left the tournament with zero points by decision of the
tournament officials.
Awesome action in first and second periods, the
fight and lots of commentaries by Don Cherry and the others are included on
this DVD. Even being a dark mark in the history
of international hockey, this game is something you'd want to watch again and
again.
The game has some audio trembling effects that I was not
able to completely eliminate. DVD has fully featured menu with chapters, disk
has a nice label and comes in a DVD case with insert. No
intermissions or commercials. This disk is in NTSC format and region free.
This DVD is the part of Russian Hockey Glory project.
