SYNOPSIS:
In one of their last professional appearances together, David Birney and Meredith Baxter Birney star in the made for television movie The Long Journey Home.
Carter Wells (David Birney) is a Vietnam Veteran listed as MIA, declared legally dead, Maura Wells (Meredith Baxter Birney) his wife, who after an eight years waiting decides to get married again. Two days before the wedding, Her former husbend emerges from the shadows in an underground garage and comes face to face with his wife. He relates several incredible stories of his experiences, all of which convince her that she is dealing with a dangerous man. It turns out however, that one of the stories about an assassin Frank Mota (Michael Preston) who's been stalking him since his return is all true. A chase and pursuit starts and they go on the run together.
A woman who believes that her husband was killed in Vietnam is about to remarry when her husband returns. And it appears that he has been a mercenary working for the intelligence community and someone whom he crossed wants him dead. So, he and his wife are making preparations to leave, but it also appears that he is hiding something else from her.
COMMENTS:
This movie is an action packed thriller from start to finish. I highly recommend it.
David Birney and Meredith Baxter Birney were married from 1974 to 1990.
