Cheers, one of the most long-running American situation comedy; it was produced by Charles Burrows for NBC. It was set at eponymous Cheers bar in Boston, Massachusetts. The theme song of the show was written and performed by Gary Portnoy. Cheers is a bar in Boston, owned by Sam Malone. He was a former Boston Red Sox pitcher but he, being alcoholic ended up his career. Ernie Pantusso, whom Sam consider as he coach is the one helping him to run the business with Carla, the waitress. Other regular characters are Norm, the accountant who always spends his time at the bar to avoid his wife Vera and Cliff, the conceited mailman. Sam Malone is also known for being a womanizer. He believes that he can have every woman that he likes. Until, Diane came to his life, a grad student who was dump by his boyfriend. And with nowhere to go, Diane applied at Cheers and gets the job of a waitress. Sam, was then easily attracted to her but she was turn off because of his attitude. Eventually, they get together but break up, until she gets a new boyfriend in the character of Frasier Cane. But when they are about to get married, Diane break up with him and get back with Sam and got engaged with him. Seasons 1-11 on 36 DVD-R. No Disc Art or Labels . DVDs in paper sleeves.
