CF Martin Guitar 1993 OM-28PB, Mint Condition |
|
This Guitar is a CF Martin OM-28PB,a Limited Edition manufactured in 1993. This guitar was "Guitar of the Month" in October 1993, and there were only 38 Made, according to Mike Longworth's book "Martin Guitars, a History".
The style "OM" designtes "Orchestra Model", which is a style that most solo guitarists prefer to use. The sound is high and bright, with tremendous sound quality. The frett board is 1 15/16" at the bottom of the scale, which allows a solo guitarist, like myself, to acsess difficult "bar" positions, without muffeling, or buzzing. The "O" shape makes it easier to navigate while performing standing, as opposed to the Dreadnaught, which sounds excellent, but playing solos standing, is difficult.
This guitar has some really awesome features, that a "trained" guitar eye will pick up immediately. The top (sound board) is beautiful "curly" Engleman Spruice, that is irridescent. The trim is Iveroid, top and bottom, with herringbone inlay on the top.The neck, of Handouran Mahogeny, is fitted with an Ebony frett board, with beautiful Mother of Pearl appointments. The back and sides are of Choice East Indin Rosewood, Perfectly book matched. The bridge is of Ebony, the "pyramid" style, which was used on Parlor Guitars, in the 19th century.
This guitar is in 100% Mint condition. I am the only owner, and never took it away from the house, on music gigs. etc. I am 70 years old, and condsolidating my string instrument collection, 212 pieces. I purchased this instrument through Mike Longworth, it was already a closed adition. My price was $2,750, the price that I am asking. I still have all of the original paperwork, and warranty (never submitted). Honestly this guitar sounds at least as good or better than most of the best guitars I have played, over the past 50 years. I would keep it, but by "consolidating", the instruments hardly used will bring in top dollar.
I can be reached by email, , or by telephone, (808) 722-8874. Please call between 8AM and 9PM Hawaiian Standard time (6 hours earlier than East Coast, 3 hours earlier than West Coast). If bid on prior to September 7th, I may be inclined to drop the price.
Lots of Aloha .......T |
