CF Martin 1889 Parlor Guitar, Excellent Condition

This Guitar is a CF Martin style 2-18, manufactured in 1889. Mandolin Bros, Staten Is, NY appraised this guitar for $7.200, on March 10th, 1998. This guitar is the best item in ny collection, which will all be sold soon. There are no repairs, refinished spots, 100% original, with the original wood Coffin case, bronze tuning rack, with old butter bean ivory tuners. The bridge, an original ebony pyramid style, and the fingerboard of ebony, on the "ebonoid" neck, particular to the 19th century style. This instrument has been excellenty taken care of, and is the the best instrument of this type I have ever seen, in 48 years of collecting. This guitar is amazingly clean, you can see the horsehair brush strokes, with the old shellac used in this era, with strong magnification. Mandolin Bros. feel that it may have been lightly spotted with French polish.
