Pointillism Portraits
Have your photograph transformed into a beautiful portrait created with dots!
I am an original artist with 12 years of experience and am eager to share my talents with you. I will take your photograph and will free-hand onto illustration board with a technical pen and then ink the portrait by using pointillism.
Pointillism, also known as stippling, is a style of art done with ink and thousands (or millions) of tiny dots. The closer the dots are, the darker the area seems (for shadows). The further apart the dots, the lighter the area seems. The closer you are to the portrait, the more you can see the dots but the further away you are from it, the more it seems to blend together. Step away from your computer and see for yourself. Also, the image you see on the screen does not do the original justice. When it is scanned in, it loses dots, therefore loses some of the detail. The original is even better than what you see on the computer and you will receive the original. This is not done on a computer, it is completely done by hand with personal care and detail.
I can do a 8x10 and 11x14 sized portrait. I can do larger, or smaller, if requested.
8x10: one person: $125.00
11x14: one person: $185.00
Each additional person: one person + $50.00
To have your portrait done with the best outcome, I need a clear photograph with shadows on and around the face. The image used as an example is ideal. There are shadows but they are not too dark. You can see the eyes and features clearly. You can either email or postal mail the picture to me. If you email, please send a digital image of at least 300 dpi so I can print the image for my reference. Please note that if you send a copyrighted image, I will not be able to use it.
