Ten adventurers set out to become the first men to ride the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in an attempt to map it out. Based on Major John Wesley Powell's own journal of the actual expedition that took place in 1869, this adventurous film depicts the perils encountered by Powell and nine boatmen in successfully navigating three small craft down the treacherous river, their fateful trip is arduous and long, and in the end only six make it out alive!
