The movie is a remake of the 1947 classic, "Its a Wonderful Life" starring Jimmie Stewart.
Marlo Thomas plays Mary Bailey, a woman with many dreams, but who always sacrifices opportunities to help her family and her community. She takes over her father's Building and loan company when he dies. When her uncle Billy loses a large cash payment, the Building and Loan faces disaster. Mary Bailey wishes she had never been born. With the help of and angel, she then sees what would have happened had she not lived. A wonderful family movie.
