Marlo Thomas plays Mary Bailey, a woman with many dreams, but who always sacrifices opportunities to help her family and her community. She takes over her father's Building and loan company when he dies. When her uncle Billy loses a large cash payment, the Building and Loan faces disaster. Mary Bailey wishes she had never been born.
