Movie description
This is the story of the evolution of the town Centennial, Colorado. The sweeping television adaptation of James A. Michener's epic novel. It follows the paths of dozens of people who come to the area for many reasons: money, freedom, or crime. It also shows the bigoted treatment of the Native Indians by the advancing US colonists. It is topped off with a murder mystery that takes 100 years to solve. Centennial the epic 21-hour mini series from 1978. Divided into 12 chapters and starring Robert Conrad as feisty Quebec fur trader Pasquinel and Richard Chamberlain as fugitive Scotsman Alexander Mckeag on the run from his past. Other stars include Michael Amara as Indian chief Lame Beaver who upon meeting Pasquinel will form a relationship that changes the course of history and set the wheels in motion for the forming of the town they named Centennial. The story spans a 200-year period and ends in present day 1978. This is a sweeping historical drama, set against the breathtaking and often brutal beauty of the Colorado Rockies, CENTENNIAL tells the story of the Native Americans who loved the land and the pioneers who settled it. Two hundred years' worth of land wars, family schisms, love affairs, political corruption, profiteering, cattle drives, and revolution. It is their story. It is our story. It is the story of America. A set for the serious collectors!

I agree with all comments regarding a DVD of this film. It is by far the best mini series ever.
Brilliant acting. Amazing photography. The costumes were incredible. And well researched.
The portrayal of the Native American people was very well done.
This should now be available for new generations to enjoy and understand how hard life was back then. The pioneer spirit should be allowed to live on in this creation.
The whole crew on this venture must be very proud of this masterpiece.
