The Lively Set 1964 Color-Running time Approximately 93 minutes. Another of those great 60's teen movies featuring cars, music, girls, romance, did I mention girls? Starring James Darren, Doug McClure and Pamela Tiffen. Casey played by Darren races experimental type cars that he's built and designed. Doug McClure is the college brain child who measures things with textbooks and sliderules rather than seat of the pants like Darren. Pamela plays Eadie, Doug's little sister and love interest to Darren who is more interested in the curves of fast cars than of girls. Casey (Darren) eventually develops a new turbine engine and a rich jet setter invests in the car and engine to set a new land speed record, to have it fail in the process due to Darren's mistakes in calculation. Now Casey is on his own with the new engine, can he beat out the competition in a grueling 2 day race, including the man who dropped his investment in Casey's invention! This movie features the Chrysler turbine cars that Chrysler developed at the time for actual production. This is a 0-all region dvd and will play on your US player or computer (to save you from asking). Nice pic quality, complete with chapters, menu listings, artwork, case etc. No raw discs here.
