Mack Sennett's Keystone Comedies -- Total Viewing Time: 94 minutes.
6 Keystone classic comedies from the Studios of Mack Sennett: 1) Bangville Police, 2) Love, Speed and Thrills, 3) Barney Oldfields Race for a Life, 4) A Movie Star, 5) Wife and Auto Trouble, 6) Wondering Willies
One of the films featured on this DVD is Barney Oldfield's Race for a Life. This famous chase film features Mack Sennett and the celebrity of its title - Barney Oldfield - then the most famous race car driver alive. The film stars Mabel Normand as Sweet Mabel, the damsel in distress, who's chained to the railroad tracks by the mustachioed villian, Ford Sterling. Also starring is Mack Sennett as the bashful suitor, and Barney Oldfield as himself. The special effects achieved in the train scene when the chase reaches its climax are more complex than generally thought to have been possible when this film was released in 1913.
In Wandering Willies under the direction of Del Lord, Sennett's best director, you'll see the classic Keystone cops doing their zany antics in the climactic chase scene.
All Films are black and white and silent with a Nickelodeon Music Background
