In the winter of 1997 the New York Yankees made what seemed like then a small trade that sent Kenny Rogers to Oakland in return for Scott Brosius. With this trade, the Yankees got far more than what they expected, as New York received a solid third baseman for the next four years. Brosius went on to lead the NY Yankees in the 1998 World Series with a .471 batting average, two home runs and six RBI's. His biggest moment in that series was a home run to center that put the Yankees ahead for good in Game 3. The biggest moment in his career came in Game 5 of the 2001 World Series, when he duplicated what Tino Martinez had done the night before, hitting a game-tying, two run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth against the Diamondbacks.
